I am James Scott Somers (Scott), a mathematician and computer enthusiast/ programmer currently living in Ottawa, Canada.
I study and work 17+ hours a day, every day since I was seven years old until I finally pass on. (not to brag). I was even my grandpa's Loeb, a land owner and farmer from Perth County, Ontario.
Computer experience as detailed on this website and my resume:
C++ (Windows, Linux and simulation work): 5+ years as student and hobbyist. Including DirectX 5.1 and earlier versions.
Java (student): 2+ years.
Python (enthusiast): 1+ year.
XML technology including Web Services and SOAP: < 1 year.
PHP & MySQL: 1+ year.
Linux and Apache: I have used Linux for many years, starting with Redhat 5.1 while working and coding in a Solaris environment. My brother, a software engineer working in Waterloo respects me for it.
I have no programming experience in a formal software engineering environment although I worked for a year as an MIT assistant at the E. B. Eddy paper mill in Ottawa Canada. Working there I met a number of other programmers and one gentleman told me, "your high school hates you because you are a C.E.O."
I have other skills and experience such as electronics courses, statistics work, analytical mathematics and microstrip antenna design that are irrevelent at the present time.
